Remember me?

Long time, no blog...

I have a good excuse, really. Back at the end of October 2007, I was (finally) diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Stage 3C. Not bad, eh?

Since this is a blog about perfuming, hair and skin care and related subjects, I won't go on and on about the state of my health, except to say it is vastly improved after 3 surgeries and a bunch of chemo. I'm still in chemo, but that should end in May or June. My cancer marker is very low -- in the normal range -- but the protocol is to finish the chemo, no matter what.

I have greatly missed blogging here and look forward to writing more in the following days. Thanks to all of you who have sent me notes of encouragement along the way. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.

On with the show!

Hi there,
I recently ordered a bunch of stuff from your online shop and I am eagerly awaiting it's arrival.
I found this blog while browsing the site and I just wanted to say that I hope that you are well soon.

Hi Trina,

I was searching the web for some items I am needing and came across your company----wow, how exciting!!
I also notice that you are an ovarian cancer survivor! I am also an ovarian cancer survivor---I just celebrated my 11 year of survivorship and want to encourage you along.

Hello Rita,

Thanks for your message of encouragement. I think about how fragile life is every day now, where I took it for granted before. Eleven years is wonderful -- it really helps me to understand this is something I can survive.

Hi Trina, I just discovered that you had a blog, and was really sad to read this news. I hope you are doing better now. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Trina, I too am a ovarian cancer survivor - chemo can be gruesome, as I am sure you know, but in the end I felt I learned something invaluable about myself. I am a neophyte in the soap world and really just checking it out for a project for me and my granddaughter for this summer. It is something I have wanted to do for a long time.

Keep well.

Hi Trina,

I am so glad to hear that you are getting back to what you love doing. My grandmother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer stage 4 over 8 years ago. She is now 76 and still going strong despite several surgeries and lots of chemo. She is still a little spitfire ;)

Stay strong.

PS- I love the private label soaps you made for me a while back.

Thank you all for your messages and encouragement. I love to hear that women have survived this type of cancer and are leading whole and productive lives -- at any age. Just a few years ago ovarian cancer was a death knell. I, for one, am fully resigned to complete recovery and resumption of my "normal" life. I really appreciate hearing your stories.
